Support Local: In our continued effort to support local businesses we are members of The Scarborough Bluffs Community Association. We also conduct multiple donations each year to a variety of local charities in the Scarborough area. We support Toronto’s own The Brides Project, by offering more than 50% off the cleaning of their previously loved gowns. We source our supplies from a variety of Canadian companies, including The Northern Hanger Company. We’ve built very strong ties to our community and local businesses in the last 50 + years and we’re committed to this tradition as we grow into the future.

Eco-Impact: As we grow, we are committed to increasing our sustainability practices! Our business does not use PERC (a controversial solution used in many industries, but usually associated with dry cleaning). We use biodegradable poly bags and recycle packaging elements like hangers, actively encouraging our customers to return them with each order. We’ve begun the process to transition all lighting in our plant to LED bulbs and energy efficient options. We currently purchase carbon offsets as part of our membership with The Association of Wedding Gown Specialists. Over the next 2 years our goal is to provide our clients with yearly transparent reporting of our environmental impact and our action plan for continued reduction of our carbon footprint.

Equality: At Style & Grace we are not only equal opportunity employers, but we actively seek diversity in all that we do. Our staff is made-up of over 60% BIPOC, 60% women-identifying and we have members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community on staff. Our staff members are able to offer services in a variety of languages including: English, French, Spanish, Hindi & Urdu. We are ALWAYS striving for continued equality within our team and community at large. In 2022 all staff members will take part in diversity and equality training, and this education will continue into the future.

Work Culture: Our goal is to provide our staff members with a safe environment to work and learn in. As such, we strive to create opportunities of upward mobility within our organization, as well as educational industry workshops. Over the next 5 years our goal is to provide all employees on staff with a living wage ($22.08 in Toronto as of 2021), not just the minimum wage as set by the government of Ontario.
