Ditch the pesky perc! We did decades ago. Perc was at one time (and sometimes still) used by dry cleaners around the world, as well as other industries. Our father Neville, always ahead of his time, made the great decision (and huge financial investment) to implement newer, more effective and healthier alternatives back in the 80’s. Our dry cleaning solvents are best used for combatting oil/grease stains and cleaning natural fibers like silks or wools.
Fun fact: Although we may be know as a dry cleaner, the vast majority (about 70%) of items that we accept over the counter never see the inside of a dry cleaning machine. Read below for more on that!
WET CLEANING
So what’s the difference between dry and wet cleaning? And how is professional wet care different from your at home laundry machine?
Dry Cleaning despite it’s name is not actually “dry” it simply means that the item is saturated in solvent, not water. Wet cleaning on the other hand, involves 4 pillars: Time, Temperature, Detergent & Mechanical Action. Each pillar must be aligned to ensure effective soil removal.
Unlike your at home laundry machine, our professional machines allow us to customize the right formula specific to your garments needs. This customization extends the life expectancy of your garments compared to washing it in an at home machine.
